Sophie Jayne is an artist located in a small town just outside Belfast. Through self-portraiture she explores female identity. Sophie’s work on female identity is driven by her own experience of having to dull herself down on nights out so to not draw any unwanted attention to herself. After discovering she was not the only one who dulls themselves down to avoid being harassed, Sophie decided it was time to challenge societal standards.

Dealing with anxiety and body issues from the judgements that impose unrealistic expectations for everybody, through her work Sophie gains the confidence to break out of the norm to show us the real side of her identity in hopes to encourage others to show theirs.
